ILDCCA SALUTES THE SERVICE OF THE LATE ILDCCA PRESIDENT EMERITUS JOHN GIANULIS

 After 16 years of service as the President of the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association (ILDCCA), John Gianulis passed away this morning.  His long-time leadership of the Rock Island Democratic Party from 1968 to 2008 and his hard work and dedication as the President of the ILDCCA between 1992 and 2008 left a lasting mark on Illinois Democrats.

Rep. Kirk abandons his principles for right-wing rhetoric

I try hard not to hate. Hating is bad for your health. Plus, the holiday season has officially begun, so hating should be put off until at least after New Year's Day.

But I have to admit that I absolutely hate the infantile, ear-splitting, hyperpartisan politics that emanates from our nation's capital.

So, I probably should've known better when Republican Rep. Mark Kirk announced his bid for the U.S. Senate.

Supporters of Gitmo prisoners move call it the chance “of a lifetime”

A day before federal officials were to tour the Thomson Correctional Center, partisan battle lines were being drawn over the prospect of moving Guantanamo Bay prisoners to the northwestern Illinois village.

Top Democrats in the state described the idea as the economic opportunity of a lifetime for the ailing region, while a group of Republican lawmakers raised the spectre of terrorist attacks in downtown Chicago.
