ILDCCA SALUTES THE SERVICE OF THE LATE ILDCCA PRESIDENT EMERITUS JOHN GIANULIS

ILDCCA SALUTES THE SERVICE OF THE LATE ILDCCA PRESIDENT EMERITUS JOHN GIANULIS

After 16 years of service as the President of the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association (ILDCCA), John Gianulis passed away this morning.  His long-time leadership of the Rock Island Democratic Party from 1968 to 2008 and his hard work and dedication as the President of the ILDCCA between 1992 and 2008 left a lasting mark on Illinois Democrats.
“As I said two years ago when I succeeded John G. after his retirement as president of the Democratic County Chairmen’s Association, no one can replace John G.,” said Alan Pirtle, current President of the ILDCCA.  “He was truly one-of-a-kind. John’s leadership and ability to unite Democrats are an inspiration to me and other Democratic county chairmen across Illinois. Our efforts in 2010 are dedicated to his memory. Our prayers and condolences go out to John’s family.”
During John G’s tenure as President of the ILDCCA, he worked with the Democratic County Parties in the 102 counties and the Democratic Party of Illinois to help Democrats increase the number of countywide and county board seats, win back the Governor’s Mansion after 26 years of Republican control, increase the Democratic majorities in the State House and Senate, and win Congressional Seats long held by Republicans.
